AC and DC are a pair of electric eels. They are kept by Di Amara.

Background[]

AC and DC were originally kept at San Fransokyo Aquarium until they were stolen by Di around the same time she helped Barb and Juniper escape prison. Di placed them in a large tank inside her office at Sycorax.

Di later used their genes in making High Voltage's biochips. The biochips gave High Voltage the ability to conduct electricity but gradually turned them into eel-like mutants.

Appearance[]

AC and DC are slender speckled electric eels with yellow eyes. One eel has pale fuschia skin while the other is pale violet, though it is unknown which eel is which. They are capable of generating violet electric currents.

History[]

In "Something's Fishy", AC and DC are swimming in Di's tank when Di was negotiating with High Voltage on payment for her services. When High Voltage mention that they cannot use their powers without their orb, AC and DC pose nearby Di to portray Di's solution of integrating High Voltage with the genes of the eels.

On a news report, AC and DC's disappearance is addressed by Bluff Dunder after he reports High Voltage's heists, citing that the eels' whereabouts are still unknown. The timing of events leads Fred to conclude there is a connection between High Voltage and the eels, referring to Baymax to explain how an electric eel is bioelectric, although his theory is dismissed by the team. Following High Voltage's mutation, AC and DC co-inhabit their tank with the monstrous eels that were once High Voltage.

Etymology[]

  • AC and DC - These are the abbreviations for "alternating current" and "direct current", respectively, the two types of current electricity can work in. "AC" and "DC" can also refer to "AC/DC", a famous rock band named after the electricity terms.
