Big Hero 6 Wiki

The smaller and more connected the world has become, the more distant we've become as its inhabitants. Less personal. Over the years, we've lost an important part of the human experience—the power of touch.

Alex Miromoto is a character in the comic Big Hero 6: The Series, presented as an antagonist in the second issue.

Background[]

Miromoto developed a new type of hologram technology and the Miromoto App along with his assistant (whose name is never mentioned). He claims the project was self-financed through odd jobs, but after Big Hero 6 discovered he used the tech to steal, Honey Lemon believed this was also a lie.

Due to his groundbreaking invention, he was invited to the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology as a guest lecturer.

Personality[]

In general, Alex Miromoto seems to lie a lot and has questionable morality despite his seemingly good intentions: he claimed his technology was made to help people communicate better, but he first tested it by robbing watches from a jewelry shop and confronting Big Hero 6, whilst seemingly expecting the heroes to show up. Yet after being caught by the team, he did not run away and claimed that it had only been an experiment, and didn't intend to keep the things he stole—but this was likely a lie as well since he was seen wearing one of the stolen watches while doing his presentation.

Appearance[]

Miromoto is a man with fair skin, brown eyes and hair, and was seen wearing a black turtleneck sweater. He also wore a ninja suit to steal from the jewelry shop in order to keep his identity secret while doing so.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Holo-Projection: Alex Miromoto developed physically touchable hologram technology, made possible by solid particles in the environment that are drawn to the point of impact where a physical object enters the field of the hologram projection. This technology worked in conjuction with an app named after himself to make calls, as he intended to allow anyone to utilize it.

Equipment[]

  • Katana: Although he was never actually seen using it to attack, Miromoto held a katana in his hologram to stall Big Hero 6 while his assistant escaped.

History[]

One night after his hologram tech was completed, Miromoto puts it to the test when his assistant goes to a jewelry shop, and, using the Miromoto App, projected a hologram of Alex that allowed him to steal several watches while not being physically there. Miromoto's hologram escaped with the bag as his assistant followed closely so the connection wouldn't be lost, until Big Hero 6 show up to stop him. Miromoto gives the bag to his assistant and tells him to go to their van while he distracts the team until their signal is lost, and the heroes attempt to fight him—only to see as he mysteriously vanishes.

The following day, not knowing Miromoto was the thief, Hiro tries to figure out what he did to disappear as he never showed any signs of life or being a robot, concluding it was a hologram, and telling his friends that (ironically) Alex Miromoto would give a lecture about his new hologram technology at SFIT that night, and could learn more about it from him. Later at the SFIT auditorium, Hiro, Wasabi, Go Go and Honey Lemon sit while Miromoto gives his lecture, but quickly realize he was in fact the jewel thief when they see he is wearing one of stolen watches.

However, since Wasabi suspected that Professor Kameela already knew their identities because she had seen him in his superhero suit without his visor the night before, told his friends they couldn't leave their seats or she would know for sure. Hiro then gets an idea and calls Fred and Baymax, who had stayed at Fred's house to edit the team's training videos. Hiro then hacks into Miromoto's SS7 Network and plays the training video on Professor Granville's phone, therefore projecting holograms of their hero personas and making it seem that they were present at the same time as their civilian alter-egos.

Miromoto sees the "hero" Big Hero 6 and tries to make up an excuse, saying he would return the things he stole and everything was a scientific experiment; the holograms, being a pre-recorded video, simply proceed to beat the real Miromoto up until the police arrive and notice that Miromoto and his assistant were the jewel thieves, then arrest them while Granville is forced to cancel the event due to this.
