Big Hero 6 face off against Mechadama, a villain who has been evading them for some time, when she attacks a supply truck. Mechadama manages to get away, even outrunning Go Go, who takes the incident personally as she had never met anyone faster, and Mechadama had copied her roller-skate tech.

The next day, Go Go becomes anxious that Mechadama may have discovered how to power the roller skate with photonic light—something she had failed in before—and stays in her room looking sad. Honey Lemon and the rest try to cheer her up while at the same time plan how to stop Mechadama, but Go Go becomes upset and tells everyone to leave because she wants to deal with the problem personally. However, she falls asleep while the rest go to Fred's house to elaborate a plan together. That night, they corner Mechadama at Night Market Square while Hiro continuously tries calling Go Go, until she wakes up and finally answers, then goes to meet with the rest to capture Mechadama. After successfully stopping her, the team explain to Go Go how they all played a part in the plan, and how Mechadama didn't power her skate with photonic light as Go Go believed, but rather, her own armor made her accelerate when the energy was focused on her boots. Go Go apologizes for taking it too personally, and soon recognizes the unmasked Mechadama as Olivia Vega—a former SFIT student.

Few days later, Go Go visits Olivia in jail after having visited Olivia's grandmother to know why she dropped out of SFIT, finding out that she had to take care of her grandmother but couldn't pay tuition, so she started working at a scrapyard but since things were becoming more expensive, she eventually created her armor to steal things instead. Go Go understands that her intentions weren't evil and due to it she made an arrangement with Professor Granville to make the truck companies drop the charges after paying for the items Olivia took, and allow her to return to SFIT on a scholarship afterwards. Olivia asks why, and Go Go replies that she admired how Olivia upgraded her own tech, and only needed some help to return to school where her genius belongs instead of jail.
