Go Go the Woweroo is the second half of the fifty-sixth episode of Big Hero 6: The Series. It premiered on November 2, 2020 and is the second segment of the sixth episode of Season 3 alongside "Big Hero Battle".

Synopsis[]

Go Go reluctantly goes undercover as the co-host of Wendy Wower's television show.

Plot[]

At the Sciencetorium, Wendy Wower plays songs for her audience of children—with one of them making a strange comment that "All good things must come to an end". After her show ends, Wendy is alone writing new songs when suddenly a drone enters through the window carrying a balloon that pops behind her, revealing a note of paper with a message reading "I WANT YOUR BRAIN". Wower becomes scared and calls Big Hero 6. Meanwhile at Sim-Max; Hiro, Baymax and Go Go have a simulation fight against El Fuego while their other teammates are absent.

The trio receive the alert call from Wendy and immediately go to her workshop, recalling how Di Amara had previously attempted to kidnap her and someone else could attempt the same thing. Hiro asks Go Go to stay with Wendy to protect her while he and Baymax search for clues. Then, figuring that Wendy Wower's Science Hour needs to go on and act like everything is still normal so to not raise any suspicion, Wendy suggests that Go Go goes undercover. Go Go dislikes the idea, but soon she is seen with a totally different look—sporting blonde hair and an outfit similar to Wendy, also going under the name of Chelsea Cheery as Wendy's co-host. When Wendy's show starts, she introduces Chelsea—but Go Go's attitude is off-putting to the children, and when Wendy tries to get Go Go to participate in the show, she starts to explain a method on how to reduce friction in an electro-mag propulsion system, which only causes the children to stop paying attention or fall asleep due to how complicated and lengthy the explanation is.

At Big Hero 6's base, Hiro asks Basemax to show him their villain database to see if any of their former enemies could be behind it, but the majority of the villains are incarcerated or retired. Back at Wendy Wower's Science Hour, Go Go sings a song about Dark Matter, which again is off-putting for the kids except for the Weird Little Boy, who actually enjoys it. Hiro continues his search with no suspects still, until Baymax tells him he has received the security camera footage from the Sciencetorium—where they see Supersonic Stu sneaking around. Although Hiro doubts it could actually be him, they decide to follow the lead and track him down. Upon finding him, they tell him that he can't escape without the help of his nana but Stu shows them that he has new rocket skates which enhance his powers and allow him to escape.

Meanwhile, Wendy tells Go Go to act more cheery in order to blend in better, so she makes an attempt while explaining static electricity to the kids. As Hiro and Baymax continue to chase Supersonic Stu through the city, Go Go actually starts to have fun with her undercover role and enjoys singing songs for the kids until the show ends. Hiro and Baymax catch up with Stu, but he asks for a time-out because he's exhausted and doesn't actually know why they're after him. Hiro and Baymax tell him about the note that Wendy received, but Stu tells them that he would never do that because he is a Woweroo himself and enjoys Wendy Wower's show, and the only reason he was at the Sciencetorium is because his grandma thinks he is actually a science genius even though he is actually not. Hiro and Baymax leave Stu as they figure that, since it wasn't him, then the real person responsible must be at the Sciencetorium still.

When the kids leave, Go Go tells Wendy that she actually had fun and liked teaching (though only in disguise). Another drone with a balloon approaches slowly but Go Go destroys it using Wendy's ukulele, then both of them realize that the Weird Little Boy was the one sending the notes as he enters the room with the drone's controller. Go Go begins to understand that the kid's first note about "wanting Wendy's brain" simply meant that he wanted to be as smart as her, and the kid explains that he's done with the notes because Go Go taught him that even though he finds talking to people annoying, it's worth trying, and now he also "wants Go Go's brain" since she understands him. Go Go hugs the child for the compliment, but at the same time Hiro and Baymax arrive, having a shocked look when they see Go Go being kind to the boy, to the point Baymax malfunctions as he attempts to process what he just saw.

Trivia[]

  • In some official sources, the episode's title is incorrectly written as "Wooweroo" with two o's.[1]
  • This episode features Go Go singing for the first time. It is also the very first time that her voice actress, Jamie Chung, sings in her acting career.[2].
  • This episode reveals what has happened to some of Big Hero 6's past villains:
    • High Voltage is performing "community service dancing", possibly as a way to reform as they had promised previously.
    • Sirque is said to be incarcerated, though her previous appearance depicted her escaping.
    • Di Amara is still incarcerated since "City of Monsters".
    • Hardlight is still incarcerated since "Big Chibi 6".
    • Baron Von Steamer has been incarcerated sometime after the events of the previous episode.
    • Mad Jacks have apparently turned over a new leaf and became hosts of a children's program called Bright Lights, Loud Noises.
  • This is the first episode where Supersonic Stu is seen without Supersonic Sue, though she is mentioned/pictured.
  • This is the third episode where Honey Lemon and Wasabi were absent and the second where Fred was absent. It is also the only episode where Go Go appeared without Honey Lemon.

Errors[]

  • The name of one of the storyboard artists, Jenessa Warren, is misspelled as Janessa.
  • After Go Go defeats El Fuego's simulation, she opens her helmet's visor to blow bubblegum. When her head turns, a line can be seen as if her visor was still up, and in the immediate next shot the visor is actually up again.
