Big Hero 6 Wiki

You got a mission? Don't sweat it. We'll crank it up to Jacks-imum overdrive! Jack attack!

The Mad Jacks are a group of high-tech mercenaries with a peculiar extreme way of operating. They were one-time villains in Big Hero 6: The Series, debuting in "The Impatient Patient".

Description[]

The Mad Jacks are a professional group of elite shadows ops who formerly worked as mercenaries, being very expensive to employ and working for the highest bidders, but once a mission was given to them, they guaranteed success and havoc, calling it awesome. The group has their own website and rock theme song. The "official" name of their company is The Mad Jack's, LLC. Their website also has a disclaimer where they state they will not be held responsible for the havoc they cause and will charge for jet fuel and passports, among other things. They also stated that their lifestyle is not for everyone.

Members[]

The Jacks are fanatics of action and extreme stuff, being described as a "high octane action team". During their missions they communicate with each other and somehow don't confuse one another even though they all share the same name. According to Greg Jack, they use the same name for "team cohesion".

  • Greg Jack: The first Jack—whose real name is Greg—might be the leader of the team as he is the one who commands the other two the most and talked with Obake personally. He actually dislikes being called Greg, calling Hiro "cold" when he did. He is a blond, Caucasian man with a darker beard than his hair.
  • Jaq: The second Jack (credited as Jaq) is the only female member and appears to be close to the third Jack, as both are mostly seen together. She is perhaps the strongest Jack since she could lift a weight made of two large truck wheels. Jaq has tan skin who shaved the right side of her head but has long hair on the left side and wears red lipstick.
  • Jack: He is the only Jack who has no other known name/alias. He is possibly the brains of the group, seen when he was working on some sort of machine while on their ship. He is a dark-skinned bald man who also has a beard and is noticeably more muscular/large than the other Jacks.

All Jacks appear to be around the same height, and wear red-black-grey armors that look almost identical. They also wear orange visors with a comm-link to talk to each other.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Infiltration skills: Being shadow ops, they can sneak and infiltrate places all while being silent. However, Greg Jack accidentally dropped a skylight while trying to get into a warehouse to meet Obake.

Equipment[]

  • Armor: They all wear nearly identical high-technology armors that not only protect them but also have gear that helps them during their job.
    • Visors: Orange tinted visors that they wear, most likely to prevent dust and other air particles from getting in their eyes while flying.
      • Comunicators: The visors include a microphone to communicate with each other.
    • Wrist cannon: A small gun that shoots lasers, hidden in their armor's wrist.
    • Hidden compartment: Like its name implies, it is a secret small compartment in the opposite wrist where Greg Jack kept the black market chip.
  • Jetpacks: Not attached to their armors, the team sometimes wear jet turbines when they are required to fly. They charge for jet fuel when they're hired.
    • Parachutes: They can turn the jets into parachutes to land silently.
  • Hook cannons: Jaq and Jack used hook cannons to hold Alistair Krei's yacht still when they attacked him the first time.
  • Laser cannon: Greg Jack used one until it was destroyed by Hiro's robot-self.
  • Taser: Greg Jack used it against Hiro's robot but was quickly crushed by Baymax.
  • Flying ship: The Mad Jacks have a flying ship that has the same color scheme as their armors. They were seen in it when they captured Alistair Krei.

History[]

Season 1[]

Obake had sold Alistair Krei a chip with alleged cutting edge technology through the black market, but double-crossed him by hiring the Mad Jacks to steal it back from Krei. The Jacks ambush Krei while on his Kreifisher yacht, but are stopped by Fred, Hiro and Baymax, who happened to be on night patrol. Later, Fred investigated them and found out they are a mercenary team with their own theme song and website.

The Jacks go for a second attempt by storming Krei's office, but Krei had upgraded his windows by making them impermeable (as his office had been previously broken into by Globby as well as Momakase). Two of the Jacks crashed against the unbreakable window, but the third one instead broke through the lower floors and kidnapped Krei.

Meanwhile, Hiro was ordered to stay in bed as he had fallen ill from being submerged in cold water during his early encounter with the Jacks, but upon hearing a police report about Krei's abduction, he stubbornly decided to go out by himself to find Krei and the Mad Jacks. Out on the street, Hiro notices Greg Jack flying away with Krei, and follows along in his scooter until the other Jack snatches and lifts him up. Noticing that Baymax was not with Hiro, Jack simply drops him in a trash bin, fracturing his leg in the process. Krei is taken to the Jacks' fortress ship in the sky, where he attempts to escape and almost falls, until one of the Jacks grab him. The mercenary team then tell Krei to hand over Obake's chip, and after complying, they get rid of him by hanging him by the clothes on an antenna at his own building, where he calls Big Hero 6 in frustration to help him.

The Mad Jacks parachute atop a warehouse, and go inside to meet their employer, Obake. Greg Jack gives him the chip, but Obake becomes upset as he realizes Big Hero 6 were tracking down the Jacks and arrived at the warehouse too. To deal with them, Greg Jack thinks of a plan where his team would take on the heroes while Obake escaped with the package, but Obake instead orders them to secure the chip until Big Hero 6 is neutralized. The Jacks obey, but in the end are defeated by Big Hero 6 and a remote-controlled robotic Hiro, since the real Hiro was unable to show up to fight due to his ill condition and injury. With no option, Jack hands the chip over to the robotic Hiro and is then rescued by his teammates, fleeing as they ultimately fail their mission.

Regardless, it is quickly revealed that the Jacks' failure was in fact success for Obake, as his master plan from the beginning was to turn Krei paranoid enough from the relentless theft attempts so that he would be unhesitant to plug the chip in his computer, only to be angered in the end as it seemed to be a dud; though it secretly allowed Obake to remotely steal Krei Tech's files.

Season 3[]

By the time of the events from "The Hyper-Potamus Pizza-Party-Torium", Big Hero 6 had moved into a new base where they trained to improve their teamwork skills by using simulations of their previous foes, including the Mad Jacks. They also mention how they haven't seen them in a while.

The heroes also kept their information stored in Basemax's villain database, although it was later revealed in "Go Go the Wooweroo" that the Mad Jacks apparently left their villainy behind and instead became the hosts of a kids' show named Bright Lights, Loud Noises[note 1].

Trivia[]

  • "Greg" Jack is voiced by Rob Riggle, Kevin Michael Richardson voices the second Jack, and Kerri Kenney voices Jaq.
  • They are similar in concept to the Bonsai Bombers, who were characters intended to appear in the film but were ultimately scrapped.
  • One of the Jacks states that Greg is his real name and all three of them go by Jack for team cohesion, and while their female member's name is instead written as Jaq, this is only seen in the end credits and subtitles; as such, it is unknown if "Jaq" is her actual team nickname with an alternate spelling due to her gender, or if it was only used during production to make it easier to differentiate between the three of them—meaning that, in-universe, she would also be codenamed "Jack" regardless of her gender, thus making Greg Jack's statement fully accurate.
  • The Mad Jacks can be seen briefly in the series intro for Season 1 in a small hexagon when Hiro expands his hands.

  1. Curiously, Jaq was absent in the displayed picture but this was likely due to its small size.
