Synopsis[]
Big Hero 6 responds to Richardson Mole's every whim when he is made mayor for the day.
Plot[]
Fred calls his friends over at his house for an important meeting. He explains to them that he's expecting to be announced as the winner of the "Mayor for a Day" program in TV for making the biggest donation to the San Fransokyo charitable fund, revealing that every Frederickson starting 5 generations ago had also been Mayor for a Day and he planned to continue the tradition. Fred begins to fantasize about using giant kaiju mechs in the streets to improve public transport when the announcement begins as Bluff Dunder reports live with Mayor Saito. Despite Fred's confidence that he would be winner, Mayor Saito announces that the winner is actually Richardson Mole. Fred screams when he sees this, and becomes annoyed when Richardson claims that his first act is to "repeal Fred's face" because Fred was going to repeal Richardson's face instead.
Soon, at Big Hero 6's base, Fred cries because he felt like a disgrace to his family as he had already planned everything for his day as a mayor, even asking Honey Lemon to paint the portrait which he would have hanged at the Hall of Mayors for a Day. The team suddenly receives an emergency call from Richardson Mole so they hurry to the City Hall, just to see that the only thing Richardson wanted was an autograph from them. They return to the base as they claim that was a waste of time, until Richardson calls them again for something "really important" this time. Once Big Hero 6 arrive at his office again, Richardson reveals that he simply wanted to hang out with them, so the heroes tell him that he shouldn't be calling them for unimportant things as they need to be available in case real emergencies come up. Despite this, Richardson continues to annoy them with fake urgent calls which they continue attend until Fred becomes too angry because Richardson is only making a mockery of the Mayor for a Day program and decides it's enough, telling Basemax to ignore his next call so Big Hero 6 can finally have a moment of peace.
Unfortunately, this time Richardson's call was a real emergency because he was being kidnapped by Supersonic Stu, who brought him to Supersonic Sue at their hideout. Sue expected Stu to kidnap Mayor Saito to lure Boss Awesome into a trap for revenge, so she is confused when she sees Richardson and asks Stu for an explanation. Richardson tells her that he is the Mayor for the day and after hearing that they're seeking revenge against superheroes, decides to take this opportunity against Big Hero 6 for ignoring him by teaming up with the villains. Sue and Stu call Big Hero 6, making it seem that Richardson is their hostage, and tell them to meet at Night Market Square without calling the police if they wanted to save Richardson. Big Hero 6 feel guilty that the previous call was a real emergency they ignored, so they gear up to go save Mole. However, upon arriving at Night Market Square and briefly fighting Sue and Stu, Richardson reveals himself driving Sue's "Supersonic Shoe" vehicle as he begins to attack the heroes, who realize the call was a trick. Sue and Stu are quickly put out of combat but Richardson continues to chase and attack the heroes. Hiro and Wasabi soon figure out a weakness and pull the roller-skate-shaped vehicle's shoelaces, causing it to crash and be destroyed. Sue and Stu escape when they hear police sirens approaching, and Fred grabs Richardson, telling him he was busted. Yet, Richardson calmly tells them that he'll just deny his crimes and everyone will believe him because he's Mayor for a Day–until he turns his head and sees that reporters have been recording his confession. Richardson then runs away in fear, and Bluff Dunder tells the heroes that since Richardson would have to be removed from office due to his actions, the person with the second biggest donation would become the next Mayor for a Day.
Fred excitedly goes to the City Hall in the afternoon to be announced as the "Mayor for the Remainder of the Day", but as soon as this happens, Mayor Saito tells him he only has 5 seconds left of his term. This gives him just enough time to ask for his portrait to be hanged next to his father's at the Hall of Mayors for a Day, so his biggest wish is fulfilled. Honey Lemon happily tells him that at least he could get that done, but Fred quickly reveals to her that he also managed to have a Kentucky Kaiju mech to be used as public transport for a while.
