Rodderick Blair, better known as Roddy is a character from Big Hero 6: The Series who first appeared in the Season 2 episode "Hardlight".
Background[]
Blair is an architect who was hired by Boss Awesome to design and build a secret superhero chamber inside his mansion. Both of them became good friends and Roddy learned several things about superheroes thanks to Frederickson.
Appearance[]
Blair is a large man who has blue eyes and ginger/orange hair. As an architect, his work outfit consists of a pair of overalls that appear worn-out, with a green shirt underneath, a tool belt, a cap with an "R" on it, and a pair of work gloves.
Personality[]
Roddy is a down-to-earth person who is serious at his job. Due to this, he and Fred appear to dislike each other slightly, with Roddy tending to ignore Fred's eccentric suggestions for the team's base and claiming that he is nothing like his father.
However, Roddy is also friendly and helps team when needed, such as giving advice to Hiro on how he could defeat Hardlight and helping to build Mega-Max.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Architecture Expertise: Roddy is a master architect who specializes in constructing secret, high tech bases. He is known as Roddy Blair, King of Lairs.
Equipment[]
- Tools: Roddy carries a toolbox filled with tools that he use for construction and renovation.
- Tracking Device: Roddy carries a tracking device in case he is kidnapped.
- Mega-Max: When Hiro tasked Roddy to build a giant mech robot to fight Trina, Roddy piloted it along with Mini-Max.
History[]
When Fred thought Big Hero 6 needed a secret base, asked Heathcliff to contact Rodderick Blair, knowing he had built his father's secret chamber as well.
As Roddy agreed, Fred, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Wasabi waited to meet him at the Frederickson Candy Co. factory to redesign the place into the Big Hero 6 headquarters. Upon arriving, Wasabi admitted he was not what he expected, and even Fred appeared to dislike Roddy due to his attitude and being called "less than awesome" by him. Roddy immediately started to work and design the blueprints of the base, soon being asked impossible or silly things by Fred such as designing a zero-gravity room. When Hiro struggled to come up with a strategy to defeat Hardlight, Roddy advised him to focus on his own strengths to win.
After Big Hero 6 succeeded in beating Hardlight, they returned to the base, where Roddy was taking a break and told them he had finished the base's first room, the conference room. Once Fred saw the base's new AI, Basemax, and entered the conference room, became excited and hugged Roddy, claiming that even though he believed he was mean, would accept it if that's "the price of genius".
In "Portal Enemy", Roddy discussed the plans for the base's next room, and though everyone liked it, Fred started drawing all over Roddy's blueprints to install a "lazy river" somewhere. When Honey Lemon told him there was no room for that, Fred asked for other things such as a water slide, and Roddy told him he'd get an extra-large sink instead, which Fred agreed to.
Later, when Hiro brought Megan to the headquarters, Roddy laughed at the fact because she was a reporter and called it a "rookie move" before getting back to work.
