Season 1 Episode Guide Season 3

Season 2 of Big Hero 6: The Series was officially ordered on March 14, 2017, and started production in fall of 2017.[1] Unlike the first season, this season consists of two arcs, the first being "City of Monsters," which premiered on May 6, 2019.[2][3]

New episodes aired daily for two weeks except for the weekend. After "Lie Detector", the show had a 4-month hiatus, then briefly returned in September 2019 with the last 3 episodes from City of Monsters and the beginning of the second Fugitives arc, following the same daily format up until "Hardlight". The series then took a second hiatus.

The Christmas special "The Present" aired on December 7, and the rest of the season's episodes started airing in January 2020, this time following a weekly format that concluded in February.

Plot[]

Season two finds Hiro and the Big Hero 6 team in upgraded super suits as they take on a variety of innovative villains, bioengineered monsters and high-tech robots.[4]

Trivia[]

  • The season was announced before the premiere of the series, marking the first time a show on Disney XD was renewed before it officially aired.
  • The series intro for Season 2 contains slight differences from Season 1, such as incorporating Mini-Max in some shots, using different villains, including a scene of Baymax in overdrive mode facing off against a mutant Orso Knox, and featuring the team members just before the title card in their Ultra Armors.
  • The end credits were also changed to include chibi versions of characters rather than having Baymax's head.
