Shiyoon Kim is a Korean American animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios and was the head character designer of Big Hero 6. The film was his first major role working at Walt Disney Animation Studios and was responsible for designing the lead characters along with fellow designer Jin Kim. Shiyoon Kim initially drew some of the leads as Korean; although characters such as Hiro Hamada and Tadashi Hamada were finally designed to be Japanese, Kim was able to make Go Go Tomago Korean, making her Disney's first Korean character.
